We had the pleasure of working with Carol Dean, kitchen designer, during 2009, as we planned and completed an extensive kitchen renovation. Carol was knowledgeable, capable, available and, most of all, patient, as we needed not only ideas but also help with navigating the endless choices in finishes. She truly was a partner in the endeavor, always friendly and cheerful. Carol had wonderful ideas for the design of the room and also for solving the problems that always arise when dealing with an older home. We never felt rushed, even during a long and unanticipated delay caused by a family illness; she was always ready to resume the conversation. We knew as well that Carol also kept an eye on timelines and delivery dates, so that we weren't worried about overlooking a detail that could cause a construction delay. Carol gave us outstanding service and we are happy to recommend her for any kitchen project that you might be contemplating.   Colin and Linda Simson

I came to Carol Dean specifically for her creative vision and expertise. Mine was a complicated and exacting design that needed Carol's knowledge about the cabinetry vendor and pitfalls of installing in an old house with its uneven walls and quirky layout. Because Carol also "speaks the language" of the finished carpenter I hired, we were able to complete the design as I'd envisioned it, with the exact amount of materials I needed--the elegant and impressive finished result speaks for itself. I couldn't be more pleased. My kitchen definitely has the "wow" factor!"   M. W.

I have had the pleasure of working with Carol over the past few years and just love the way she operates. Having worked with many designers in the past and being a former designer myself, I can appreciate the effort that goes into designing from the beginning stage of basic ideas a customer has, through the educating process, to the end result of bringing those ideas to life. The challenge is to design the space with the customers taste and to make it work the very best it can, all while keeping resale in mind. That's where Carol does exceptionally well. I love the way Carol takes all those ideas and then takes the time needed to generate a design that incorporates all those factors so the customer has the very best design for themselves. Carol does all the necessary upfront work and research to make the experience so pleasurable from both the customers’ and the contractors' stand point and that's hard to do. For contractors, having all the correct parts on site is the hard part. The installation is actually very easy if everything is there — working and undamaged — so this responsibility needs lots of behind the scenes efforts and that's why it is such a pleasure working with Carol — she takes care of all that and more.   Mark Halliday, contractor
